We’re hosting an Anniversary & Fundraising Party on December 2nd to celebrate these past years and to fundraise for renovations, increase our free arts and culture programming, and continue doing what we can to grow this community.

This December Memphis Current is celebrating its 5th Birthday. We started the organization by publishing the first issue of our magazine in 2018 as a way to advance Memphis arts and culture and create new outlets for our cities creatives.

For the past year or so we’ve worked on building a physical manifestation of Current. And we’re proud to be celebrating another year with each and every one of you, and honored to be a part of this community. We’ve built this place piece by piece, one day at a time, and we’re excited to continue this journey.

Hello friends,

We’ve had a wonderful year at Current with all of you, and we hope you all have enjoyed the shows we’ve brought to you and the memories we’ve made together.

We’re asking for your support in this fundraising campaign, so that we can continue to grow the publication that started this journey, the place that’s brought us all together and the mission of Current that makes it all worthwhile: which was, is, and always will be bringing Memphis together through art, music, hospitality and the core belief that we as Memphians have something to celebrate.

As we work towards next year, we want to bring you more free programming and events, so Memphians have accessible opportunities to become involved in our city’s vibrant arts and entertainment community.

Everything you see in Current has been sourced, built, installed or donated by our little team and the gracious supporters of what we do. We’re in the early stages of renovating and remodeling, which will allow for us to host a wider variety of events and operate more efficiently, so that we can continue curating a safe and supportive environment for people to come celebrate music, art, community, and the city itself.

This fundraiser ends with our anniversary party on December 2nd. This event is Pay What You Can, and any donation made through this platform counts as your ticket purchase for the evening. If you’re uncomfortable using this platform, tickets can also be bought online through our website or at the door day of. Both options remain Pay What You Can.

If you’re unable to donate monetarily, but would like to help in another way, please feel free to message us. And if there’s anything we can do to help you make our city a better place, don’t hesitate to ask. We hope to see you soon at karaoke, a concert, an art exhibition or just for a drink among friends.
